Charmantes Haus in Unterseen

A short New Year’s stay in Unterseen Positive: The keys were easy to find in a lock box (which wasn't locked) right next to the door, and there was parking directly in front of the house. The owner was very kind, friendly, and helpful in assisting us with some initial difficulties. The house was very clean and has a fenced garden, which allowed us to let our dogs outside without any worries. We had the entire house to ourselves and were not disturbed by anyone. The location is ideal—very quiet, close to Interlaken, and about half an hour from Grindelwald. Negative: The house is heated with a pellet stove and electric heaters. At first, the circuit breakers tripped when we turned on the heating, so we had to contact the owner, who helped us locate the fuse box. The Wi-Fi code was also not immediately available, so we had to reach out again. It might be helpful to provide guests with a small information folder containing the most important instructions. The door leading directly into the kitchen seems more suitable as an interior door and was not very well sealed, which was noticeable during the cold weather. The door handle also came loose a few times. Since the door between the kitchen and living room has been removed, there was a noticeable draft. The bed frames are made of very solid wood; however, the mattresses are inexpensive foam. Unfortunately, this caused some back discomfort for us, and we decided to shorten our stay by one night.

Cozy and nice house. Positive: Perfect house with a nice small garden. The place is clean and cozy. Very friendly for dogs. Negative: Everything is perfect!

Positive: Host was very responsive. Pre check in details to get room keys, wifi, apartment direction helped a lot. During stay, all our queries were promptly answered and once person visited to show us how to start dishwasher as per our request. Location and surrounding is beautiful and peaceful. Negative: Mirror is only in washroom so difficult to mange for more than 2-3 people. No cloth washing machine. Some rooms were completely empty and not useful for 3 people stay. That was bit difficult as we had to lock them all the times. One bed in outside room was more soft and bit difficult to sleep on that.

Positive: The kitchen is well-equipped with the facilities needed, and both the kitchen and living room are comfortable and okay to use. The location is just a bit okay, but if you are travelling by public transport, it can be a bit difficult since after 9 pm the bus only runs once every hour. Negative: However, the bedroom was not very comfortable; the bed could be improved, and the lighting is too dim, making the room feel quite dark. The towels had an unpleasant smell, and the hair dryer only worked for a few minutes before overheating and turning off. Additionally, sometimes there was an odor coming from the abandoned cow place next door, and insects came into the house whenever the windows were opened. Overall, the stay was fine for basic needs, but there are several areas that could be improved for better comfort.

Positive: Location, easy to get, the style of the house with customized pine wood furnitures, cleanliness, neighbourhood, parking, back yard with sitting area & BBQ with blooming flowers. The owner also very informative & communicative Negative: Insects comming into the house when we open window to enjoy fresh air (would be better if put some screen on the window), sometime smell like cow poo, perhaps there's abandoned barnyard (??)
